We are able to offer you a large range of stock tartans. There are over 2,700 tartans listed in The Scottish Tartans World Register. However, not all of these are actually woven by the Scottish woollen mills. If your tartan is not one that's commercially available, we can usually have this specially woven for you, unless it is right protected.

We are often asked: "what is the difference between Modern and Ancient tartans?" The answer is in the shading. Both setts, or patterns are exactly the same, but the Ancient tartan reflects the Modern version in a faded condition - it has little to do with age. The same applies to Muted and Weathered tartans, the setts are the same, just different shading. We are happy to advise you on this.

To check on your tartan, first open our Stock Tartans window where you will see a list of all the tartans we hold in stock. Don't worry if yours is not listed, it may mean that we're temporarily out of stock, so just contact us and we'll advise you on its availability.
